Fast 5 with Ashley Elston

Fast 5 with Ashley Elston:

Last thing that made you cry: The onions I was cutting up for fajitas last night. They get me every time.

Favorite quote: “To the stars who listen – and the dreams that are answered.” A Court of Mist and Fury. I just really love this quote.

Best moment as an author: When I received my first letter from a reader. She told me she didn’t like to read until she read my book. It was an amazing feeling knowing that my book did that for her.

Last person you hugged: My youngest son, Archer. He’s eight and therefore still thinks I’m somewhat cool. My older two boys keep dodging me.

Last emoticon you used: The eye rolling one. It sums up so much.
ABOUT THIS IS OUR STORY:
No one knows what happened that morning at River Point. Five boys went hunting. Four came back. The boys won’t say who fired the shot that killed their friend; the evidence shows it could have been any one of them.

Kate Marino’s senior year internship at the District Attorney’s Office isn’t exactly glamorous—more like an excuse to leave school early that looks good on college applications. Then the DA hands her boss, Mr. Stone, the biggest case her small town of Belle Terre has ever seen. The River Point Boys are all anyone can talk about. Despite their damning toxicology reports the morning of the accident, the DA wants the boys’ case swept under the rug. He owes his political office to their powerful families.

Kate won’t let that happen. Digging up secrets without revealing her own is a dangerous line to walk; Kate has her own reasons for seeking justice for Grant. As she and Stone investigate—the ageing prosecutor relying on Kate to see and hear what he cannot—she realizes that nothing about the case—or the boys—is what it seems. Grant wasn’t who she thought he was, and neither is Stone’s prime suspect. As Kate gets dangerously close to the truth, it becomes clear that the early morning accident might not have been an accident at all—and if Kate doesn’t uncover the true killer, more than one life could be on the line…including her own.

  1. That is an amazing letter to get from a reader. You obviously made a great impression on this person to have them write you about the experience. My kids are old enough that they dodge the hugs too.

  2. I find it cool that she's a mom. I just feel like she could understand her children more with her writing YA. Actually all authors in general! Looking forward for this book!:)

  4. Yes, eye-rolling emoticons are the best. I used one at work last week between an email with a coworker.

  5. Few weeks ago my girlfriend told me that she was fed up, so she packed her stuff and left me while I was taking a walk to cool off. When I got back, I was so messed up because I didn't even know what to do, it was like my whole life was coming to an end. That night I drove to a friend’s house and he was nice enough to give me a description of a man who did spells that could bring her back for me. He said this man brought her fiancĂ©e back to him after 2days. The man's email is emutemple@gamil.com, it was this man that then did a spell and brought Claire back to my life. She was now so humble and calm, she was respectful and lovely even more than i can imagine. This man is really strong and accountable. I never regret anything through him. meet him if you need help in your love life. visit his website you may find your solution there https://emutemple.wordpress.com/
